One of the principle reasons for the existence of the AAA is the wish to maintain and promote cultural contacts with the Homeland.

All member clubs of the AAA have premises where regular get-togethers with a cultural theme are arranged . The programmes often include performances by Austrian amateur folk dance groups, choirs and musicians, which are especially valued by both members and guests.

Austrian and German clubs in Australia have for many years been host to traditional music and dance groups from Austria, Germany and occasionally from Switzerland.

Their visits and performances in our member clubs around Australia have always been welcomed enthusiastically and are very much appreciated.  The visiting groups  enjoy a mixture of  meeting people, cultural performances in various venues, holiday / sightseeing and getting to know our adopted country  Australia on days when no performance is scheduled.

Our Clubs are managed by committees on a volountary  and honorary basis, with annual membership fees and annually elected committees. They are not in a position and are not allowed to pay large performance fees.  However they are able to assist with arranging performances at the various venues,  sometimes with private accommodation and perhaps a meal and advice on travel  and itinerary etc.

Australian Tax and Visa requirements are strict and complicated and changes are being made frequently .

The Australian Consulate or Embassy in your country will advise you regarding the necessary and current visa requirements.

Entertainer Groups  generally  travel on a tourist visa and provide cultural entertainment at our clubs entirely for  sentimental and nostalgic purposes,  thus maintaining traditional cultural links for those expatriate Austrians / Germans now residing in Australia.

When applying for the visa, the Australian authorities may require an invitation from the Austrian / German clubs, which we will gladly provide.

Receipts from performances by foreign cultural groups generally do not attract tax. but any payments to visiting groups must absolutely  be declared and seen as part reimbursements of expenses.

Insurance

Touring groups must carry their own comprehensive insurance. The AAA and its members clubs cannot undertake any responsibility in this area.

We can be your partner in coordinating visits and performances in our member clubs, which are found in nearly all the larger cities.  We are happy to help with information and advice on  putting together a tour  and with other associated matters.

The AAA (Austrian Associations of Australasia)

Umbrella organisation of Austrian Clubs in Australia and New Zealand incorporated in 1989.

We hope to be able to welcome your group soon as
