PRESIDENT Hermann Wandl,

Company Director. Foundation President of the Austrian Associations, Past President of the Austrian Club Sydney. Vorstandsmitglied des Weltbundes der Österreicher im Ausland from !989-1993. Has been involved in Club Management in various organisations and capacities. Chairman of EURO-FEST the premier multi-cultural festival in Sydney. Hermann is from Lower Austria. He spent 6 years in Switzerland and 2 years in London before coming to Australia. Hermann was awarded the “Goldene Ehrenzeichen” from the Austrian Government

in 2001 for services to the Austrian Community .

Vice PRESIDENT Herbert Reiter

Herbert Reiter has been President of the Austrian Club Adelaide for the last 17 years.

Besides club management and associated activities Herbie has a keen interest in Ethnic Broadcasting, Austrian Folk dancing and Austrian Music. Herbie was awarded the “Goldene Ehrenzeichen” from the Austrian Government in 2003 for services to the Austrian Community in South Australia.

SECRETARY Hannes Gamper from Innsbruck, Austria, where he completed his schooling, graduating as a mechanical engineer. Migrating to Australia in 1972 and he worked in various Federal Government Departments in Canberra. Hannes has been involved with the Austrian Community in Australia for many years. He was President of the AAC Canberra from 1999 to 2001, and has served in various positions within the AAA. The Republic of Austria awarded him the Golden Cross for services to the Austrian community in 2001. Interests include mountaineering, rock climbing, skiing, tennis and golf. Hannes, very connected to his homeland, visits Austria and in particular Tyrol every year.

TREASURER Jenny Wandl emigrated to Australia in 1962 as an Austrian Citizen, I believe the first and only New Zealander to do so. A member of the Austrian Club Sydney for many years, with four years as Committee member. Founder member of the AAA together with husband Hermann and others. Jenny’s community involvements are varied and extensive. Hobbies and interests include theatre, skiing, archery and travelling to unusual parts of this planet and 7 lovely grandchildren.
