Austrian Club Sydney

Many hours of volunteer labour and generous donations of materials  by our members made it all possible. The 20th July 1980 saw the Grand Opening of  the Clubhouse.

This was a proud moment for Austrians in Sydney.

Since then the club has gone from strength to strength. The clubhouse has been extended,

a liquor licence  was obtained and additional land acquired for carparking.

Our “million dollar view” over middle harbour, with a vista of  yachts on the water on a sunny day, or twinkling lights at nights, the gemütliche Atmosphäre and an excellent cuisine is attracting many visitors to the Austrian Club.

On Dance Nights we feature a great variety of bands and entertainers, both local and from overseas, mainly from Austria, occasionally also from Germany or Switzerland.  John Dagn from Kössen / Tirol, has been President of the Austrian Club for many years.

Please check out our entertainment calendar . The Club is open every Friday and Saturday for Dinner and Sunday for Lunch and Dinner, see Menu. You are always welcome in our Club and the wonderful City of Sydney

The “Austrian Club” Sydney had its beginnings in the migrant boom in the early sixties. A group of newly arrived migrants got together and decided to form the club with the aim of sharing memories and keeping alive the customs and traditions and  to help newcomers to adjust to the different lifestyle and conditions in Australia.

In the mid seventies however efforts were made by the Austrian Community to further establish its identity by having a permanent home

of its own. Land was acquired and years of hard work followed.
